4 DAY FIRST AID AT WORK

 

DURATION: 4 Days – Monday to Thursday 0900 -1700 hrs.

DELEGATE GROUP: Open to candidates of all abilities
 

PRE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS: No previous first aid training necessary. This is a Health & Safety Executive approved course that complies with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 for the qualification of workplace first aiders.

AIM:

To train candidates to HSE standards using current first aid literature.
 

OBJECTIVES:

Candidates will demonstrate competencies in all aspects of First Aid at Work through progressive training and a formal assessment process.
 

COURSE CONTENT:

Delegates will receive training in a range of first aid competencies. The list below is by no means exhaustive but outlines the main aspects of the course.

  • aims and principles of First Aid
  • basic life support
  • management of the unconscious casualty
  • assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or in shock
  • assessment and treatment of fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries
  • assessment and treatment of common major and minor illnesses
  • prevention of cross-infection during first aid procedures
  • emergency transport of casualties
  • legal aspects of First Aid at Work – record keeping and use of equipment
     

COURSE FEES: Available on request. Price includes all course materials, lunch and light refreshments. Accommodation can be available at the Centre on request.
