PRE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Students nominated to attend this course will require a fundamental understanding of current legislation and fire alarm systems

AIM:

For delegates to gain a better understanding of the current legislation and requirements of Fire Prevention and Health & Safety Acts and to assist in the development of Risk Assessment procedures.

OBJECTIVES:

• to carry out fire prevention inspections in conjunction with current legislation
   
• to gain a better understanding of the need for means of escape, assembly points, emergency lighting and relevant signs and symbols.
   
• to gain an appreciation of dead-end situations and travel distances
   
• to gain an understanding of modern fire alarm systems and heat and smoke detection systems
   
• the action to take in the event of a fire emergency
