CREW COMMANDER INCIDENT COMMAND REVALIDATION
DURATION: 1 week fully residential
DELEGATE GROUP: This programme is designed for personnel who are currently in the role of Crew Commander. It provides the opportunity for candidates to demonstrate that the knowledge and skills acquired during initial training at this level is being effectively maintained.
PRE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Personnel nominated to attend this course shall:
- be medically fit in accordance with the standards set by ODPM (relevant national standard for non UK students)
- hold a current certificate of competence at Crew Commander level (or one which has expired not more than six months before the start of the course)
- have diligently prepared to attend this programme of assessment.
AIM:
This assessment programme provides candidates with the opportunity to demonstrate the maintenance of the competencies that are mapped to the Crew Commander role.
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this programme candidates will have had the opportunity to demonstrate:
- effective leadership.
- the ability to safely and effectively manage a simulated incident sector.
- effective communication skills.
- effective decision making.
- the maintenance of knowledge commensurate with the Crew Commander role.
Candidates will be assessed through observation of performance and oral questioning.
On successful completion of the programme, the individual will be issued with a Certificate of Competence and a record of achievement relating to the relevant areas of CAP 699. The period of validity of the Certificate of Competence is 4 years.
