The International Fire Training Centre is uniquely equipped to provide specialist aviation fire training to the highest international standards for delegates from around the world.
The courses balance theoretical classroom instruction, tactical planning exercises and demonstrations with practical instruction and exercises on the Centre's own superbly equipped fireground which has been designed to cater for aviation, offshore and industrial fire service needs.
IFTC is able to offer one of the most extensive fire training grounds in the world burning either liquid propane or aviation fuel. The training ground has taxiways and aprons, a number of large passenger aircraft (in various locations) and simulators including a CAT 5 -fuselage section, full-scale mock up of the front section of a Boeing 747, military aircraft and a S76 helicopter. The fixed rigs include an undercarriage unit mounted on an under-wing section, high and low level engines, an internal fire unit and a large fire screen. Late in 2007 IFTC will be proud to unveil a new CAT 10 training simulator to provide realistic training for the new generation large aircraft (NGLA)
We also have the use of virtual reality simulation at IFTC which is designed to enhance the delegate’s ability to make critical decisions during aircraft accident emergencies.
Course fees (except courses marked with a double** asterisk) are fully inclusive of food and accommodation at the Centre. This accommodation, which is provided to delegates for the full duration of their course (including weekends), is to a very high standard with all rooms having colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities. En suite rooms are also available. As of July 2008 all rooms have Wireless Internet Access free of charge. The Centre also provides social and recreational facilities for delegates during their stay.
Please be advised that this year we have designed two programmes for cabin crew trainers. One for airline staff and one for non airline staff. Also the Introduction to trainer skills is now three days rather than the usual five. CMI level 2 and 3 are now one week modules to gain the certificate and diploma.
NOTE: Non aviation training is generally arranged to suit the customer’s specific needs and staff at the Centre would be pleased to discuss any training requirements not published in this aviation schedule.
